Her Face is the Map of the World

Yesterday was one of those days where my mind jumped from idea to idea like a train on rocket fuel despite my attempts to calm it down by reading a book. Obviously that didn't work, because the book revived thoughts about the world and civilisations and people in general. More ideas jumping around like synapses. Maybe I think too much. In the end, I decided to look up some interesting places on the net and get the maps on how to get there for the much delayed road trip I was supposed to do a few weeks ago. Plus I will also be soon encountering my first ever long distance solo drive to this place called The Lost World of Tambun . Although I did sign up for the convoy based drive, it would be better if I knew how to get there myself. People say it's easy getting there, but I've been known to get lost in my own town, so it's best to be safe. My current mood however protests against going, predicting a boring day filled with water based games (I'm mildly hydrophobi...

One Red Light

It was a slow and boring drive to work this morning, despite the fact that I'm not particularly susceptible to the ubiquitous existence of the Monday blues. Now, my daily commute involves a slightly long wait (3 to 4 minutes only, actually... but in the mornings that is a rather long wait) at a particular traffic light, thanks to the overwhelming number of cars that need to use that particular intersection to get to their respective destinations. The placement of a traffic police personnel there has improved conditions beyond belief the past few months, but still, the wait (sometimes short, and sometimes long) is always inevitable. This morning while I was *applying lotion on my hands while awaiting my turn to move, I came up with a list of things that I have possibly done throughout while **waiting for the lights to change colour 1. Look at cloud formations and create conversations for them 2. Watch people head bang (quite a rarity, though), or head bang myself! 3. Look into...

MOVE IT

They swerve, they skid, they come this close to causing a massive heart attack in even the healthiest person around, and yet they look at you nonchalantly (which is fine by me) or give you the look that clearly says "Are you trying to kill me?" That is the typical scenario of a motor bike rider, or to put it even more accurately, the scenario with a typical Malaysian motor bike rider. I can't speak for others. I don't know if it's just me or if anyone else has noticed it, but it seems as though these bikers don't seem to care for their own lives, and instead hope that the other road users will look out for them and take care of them. I mean, they ride dangerously, beat traffic lights at any given opportunity, swerve in and out around other vehicles, stationary or otherwise, and if something bad happens, they shamelessly place the blame on the other vehicle. What the hell? As a person who drives a car, I am sometimes more terrified of bikers than I am of b...
